Alice Theresa Connors is a Research Data Specialist Lead for the CA Department of Health Care Services (DHCS) Mental Health and Substance Use Disorder Division. The emphasizes of her Victimization research pertains specifically to the areas of Domestic Violence (DV), Sexual Assault (SA), Stalking (SK), Commercial Sexual Exploited Children (CSEC), Child Welfare (CW) and Foster Care (FC). Her research and data projects include collaborating with the CA Department of Social Services on projects pertaining to Specialty Mental Health Services (SMHS) and Substance Use Disorders (SUD) Senate & Assembly CW and FC legislative bill implementations of services including Children’s Short Term and Crisis Residential Placement policies and best practices. Alice is a member of the State of CA Commercial Sexual Exploited Children (CSEC) Action Team, assisting in creating legislation, building policies and programs to bring an end to sex trafficking of children. She served as a Court Appointed Special Advocate (CASA) Supervisor for FC Children where she created and provided CASA trainings on the Roots of Domestic Violence and Sexual Assault, identifying and responding to DV/SA/CSEC in order to better serve CW/FC children and create better outcomes. She is a Counselor, Advocate and Trainer for Victims of Domestic Violence, Sexual Assault and Stalking. She provides education to Foster Care Children, Communities, Parents and children on resources and how to protect themselves from the exploitation tactics utilized by Traffickers. She is a Shared Hope International Ambassador educating communities on CSEC research, data resources, key issues, and State legislative achievements to counter sex trafficking and put an end to the demand. Alice obtained a B.S. degree in Accounting and a B.S. degree in Information Systems/AIS at CA State University of Sacramento. She has over 25 years of experience working with Data and over eight years specializing in Victim Services Research and Data.
