How financial sextortion impacts youth and what we’re doing to rewrite the script

Key findings from their study, to be released June 24, include:

• 26,718 reports of financial sextortion were reported to NCMEC in 2023 alone.
• NCMEC received an average of 812 sextortion reports per week between August 2022 and August 2023.
• Instagram and Snapchat are the most common platforms, with additional encrypted messaging apps also being used.
