Dr. Kulig earned her Ph.D. in criminal justice from the University of Cincinnati, with an emphasis on victimology and crime prevention. Her current research focuses on a range of issues including studying the nature and prevalence of human trafficking, testing theories of victimization, examining rape myth acceptance in India, evaluating public perceptions on justice-related topics, and analyzing laws named after crime victims. Dr. Kulig also has previous experience facilitating clinical drug trials for individuals diagnosed with a psychotic disorder. More recently, Dr. Kulig received external funding as a co-investigator to examine the prevalence of human trafficking in Ohio by using existing agency records. She has experience working collaboratively with multiple local- and state-level agencies to conduct research, analyzing quantitative and qualitative data, and publishing results for a general audience and in scholarly outlets.
