Phuong Nguyen currently attends California State University, Fullerton (CSUF), and pursues the Master of Arts degree in Psychology. Her academic goal is to achieve the Ph.D. in Community Psychology, specialized in sexual assault and domestic violence. Phuong's interests lie in mental health issues, cross-cultural research, and intimate partner violence. Since 2015, she has been actively involved in a study, led by Dr. Courtney Ahrens at California State University, Long Beach, and funded by the National Institution of Justice. In addition,s he successfully conduced an independent study with Dr. Mechanic to examine Vietnamese American students' attitudes towards intimate partner violence, in 2017. As an expansion to this study, currently, Phuong is working with the Ho Chi Minh City University of Social Sciences and Humanities to conduct an independent study which examines Vietnamese students' judgment of intimate partner violence. The result of this study will help to create the first prevention workshop in the nation to offer to college students. Together with EZPsychology team in Vietnam and Australia, Phuong is the manager, coordinator, and also main writer for the upcoming community psychology book which targets Vietnamese audience.
