BIO

I am applied public health researcher with 20 years of experience and expertise in formative research, intervention development, and evaluation, focused primarily on intentional injury, specifically gender-based violence. As a faculty member in the Department of Health Behavior, I teach graduate-level course on program planning and evaluation, and serve as the Director of the Master in Public Health (MPH) program. My training in Health Behavior and Epidemiology provide me with extensive knowledge of both social and behavioral science theory and epidemiologic research methods. I conduct my research collaboratively with stakeholders from both research and practice, and am firmly committed to authentic translation from research to practice and practice to research. I have led and participated on numerous multidisciplinary research teams, and utilize both quantitative and qualitative methods in my work. I have particular expertise in developing process and outcome evaluation indicators that not only accurately portray social phenomena, but also yield community-relevant information.
