BIO
My interest in studying sexual violence arose out of more than a decade spent working as a staff person and volunteer with rape care and domestic violence programs. I am particularly interested in systems (victim services, medical, police, and prosecutorial) responses to sexual violence, and in the development and implementation of policies related to sexual assault, including rape care funding and oversight provisions, SANE/SART programs, criminal justice processing, and sex offender laws. Most of my work is at the state and local level; I am especially interested in understanding the challenges faced by rural communities. Currently I am a core faculty member of the NIJ-funded Violence Against Women Research Consortium at Rutgers University.
