Andia M. Azimi, Ph.D., is an assistant professor in the Department of Criminal Justice and Criminology at Sam Houston State University. Her research interests center around victimization that occurs early in life and its associated negative outcomes, especially as it relates to mental health and offending. She is also interested in the role of social support in victimization and offending, as well as victimization that occurs among college students. Her scholarly work has been published in peer-reviewed journals, including the Journal of Interpersonal Violence, Deviant Behavior, Drug and Alcohol Review, Violence and Victims, and the Journal of School Violence. In addition to her scholarly research, Dr. Azimi teaches various courses on criminological and criminal justice topics.
