Lorraine T. Benuto, Ph.D. is an Assistant Professor in the Clinical Psychology Program at the University of Nevada, Reno. Her research is focused on interpersonal violence victimization. She specializes in the behavioral health of minorities (with an emphasis on Latinxs), the development of behavioral health issues in the aftermath of interpersonal violence, the identification of gold standards for the treatment of the common sequelae from interpersonal violence, and examining the implications of working with trauma victims on providers. She is currently the director of La Clinica VIVA a specialized clinic for Latina victims of violence and the director of the THRIVE program--a behavioral health treatment program that provides therapy to women and children who have been impacted by domestic violence.
