BIO
Dr. Sarah L. Napper is an assistant professor in the Department of Criminal Justice at Auburn University Montgomery. Dr. Napper joined the faculty at AUM in 2018 after completing her Ph.D. at Georgia State University. Her research centers around victimization, with a focus on sexual victimization and recurring victimization. She is especially interested in victimization occurring among minority groups (LGBQT) and its associated risk and negative outcomes. She is also interested in victimization that occurs on college campuses among college students. Her scholarly work has been published in peer reviewed journals, including The Social Science Journal, Drug and Alcohol Review, Victims and Offenders, and Criminal Justice Review. In addition to her scholarly research, Dr. Napper teaches undergraduate courses on victimology, women and criminal justice, criminological theory, ethics, and policy. She was awarded the Andrew Young School of Policy Studies Excellence in Teaching Award at Georgia State University in 2017. Dr. Napper also serves as the advisor for the criminal justice honor society, Alpha Phi Sigma at Auburn University Montgomery.
