BIO
Steven P. Lab, Ph.D. received his degree in Criminology from Florida State University in 1982. He is a Full Professor of Criminal Justice at Bowling Green State University. He has also served as a visiting faculty member at Keele University, the Jill Dando Institute of Crime Science at the University College London, and the University of Loughborough (all in England). He is the author/coauthor/editor of eight books, including Victimology (8th Ed.; with W.G. Doerner), Crime Prevention: Approaches, Practices and Evaluation (10th Ed.), Juvenile Justice: An Introduction (9th Ed.; with J.T. Whitehead), and The Encyclopedia of Victimology and Crime Prevention (with B.S. Fisher). Dr. Lab is also the author of over 50 articles and book chapters and has completed major research projects funded by the U.S. Department of Justice. A past president of the Academy of Criminal Justice Sciences, he serves as a frequent consultant to the National Institute of Justice on a wide range of topics.
