BIO
I have conducted research on the victimization of women, university students, sex workers and small businesses. I am a mixed methods social scientist. I edit the journal, Feminist Criminology, and have chaired the American Society of Criminology's Division of International Criminology. I am proficient in Spanish and French and able to conduct research in those languages, along with English. My award-winning book, Women, Crime and Criminal Justice: A Global Enquiry covers the international victimization of women, including women in armed conflict and via harmful traditional practices.
