BIO
Dr. Chris Krebs is a Chief Scientist in the Division for Applied Justice Research at RTI International. He has a B.S. in Sociology from Emory University, and an M.S. and a Ph.D. in Criminology from Florida State University. He has extensive research experience in the areas of corrections, substance abuse epidemiology and treatment, intimate partner violence and sexual violence, HIV transmission among and associated high-risk behaviors of offenders and inmates, criminal justice systems, and program evaluation. He has been at RTI since 2000 and has extensive experience designing studies, developing survey instruments, analyzing data, and disseminating findings. Dr. Krebs has published and presented numerous research papers on a wide variety of topics. Dr. Krebs is an expert at designing and implementing victimization research studies. He is most well-known for his research on sexual assault among college populations (e.g., https://www.bjs.gov/content/pub/pdf/ccsvsftr.pdf) and his work designing and implementing surveys of jail and prison inmates (e.g., https://www.bjs.gov/content/pub/pdf/svpjri1112.pdf).
