BIO
My areas of research are in understanding family violence, intimate partner violence, and sexual assault, and effective ways to prevent these forms of violence. I developed and evaluated my campus' sexual assault and dating violence prevention education. Much of my research focuses on under-recognized partner violence and sexual assault victims, such as men and sexual minorities. I aim to understand how these forms of violence manifest in these victim groups, how others perceive these forms of violence, and the unique ways we need to intervene. I have worked with many practitioners and policymakers in my work, including local and state domestic violence agencies, rape crisis centers, state and federal lawmakers, and some advocacy groups. I am also very interested in working with military populations.
