BIO

Edna Erez is Professor of Criminology, Law, and Justice at the University of Illinois at Chicago. She has law degree (LL.B) from the Hebrew University of Jerusalem, and MA and Ph.D. in Criminology/Sociology from the University of Pennsylvania. Her areas of research include victims in justice proceedings, violence against women, victimization in the context of terrorism and transnational crimes, and technology in criminal justice, particularly the use of electronic monitoring technologies in domestic violence cases. Professor Erez received over two million dollar research grants from state and federal agencies in the U.S. and overseas. Her publication record includes over 100 scholarly articles, book chapters, and research reports, Professor Erez serves as associate editor of Victims and Violence, and co-editor of International Review of Victimology, both major scholarly journals in the field of victimology.. She has also consulted with various governmental and non-profit organizations on issues pertaining to victims in the criminal justice system, domestic violence, and victimization in the context of transnational crimes. She also participated in policy forums on these issues and presented webinars on topics related to domestic violence victims..
