BIO
My research focuses on cumulative victimization (community, family, sexual, and intimate partner violence) among adolescents and young adults. I am particularly focused on victimization experiences among marginalized groups, such as pregnant and parenting adolescent women, and young people who are homeless. My work examines how these experiences with victimization shape school and mental health outcomes; I use both quantitative and qualitative approaches. My prior professional experience includes working as an outreach health educator, program director, and policy advocate at an adolescent advocacy organization. I have collaborated with the Sargent Shriver National Center on Poverty Law, and consulted with various organizations providing services to youth who are homeless, or unaccompanied immigrants.
