While the field is hungry for evidence-based practices, it also needs that information delivered in a digestible way. Karen Kalergis has brought her communications expertise to several projects to translate research into products the field can use to address vicarious trauma and build resiliency. These products include curricula, white papers, and websites. She has conducted extensive literature reviews, analyzed and overseen the analysis of qualitative data, worked with the principal investigator to ensure fidelity to the methodology, and taken a key role in writing up findings and final reports. Her knowledge of the victim services field and experience in providing training to advocates, researchers, first responders, attorneys and legal advocates enables her to develop materials that are discipline-appropriate. She is adept at making the communications strategy meet the need - whether it's a grant application, article for peer review, or training curricula. Her subject-matter expertise in organizational approaches to addressing vicarious trauma and building resiliency is timely for the field. It is critical that services to heal victims are provided by organizations and individuals that are healthy themselves. A team player, Karen is an asset to any project dedicated to innovation and excellence.
