Dr. Ruth Fleury-Steiner is an Associate Professor in the Department of Human Development and Family Sciences, with a secondary appointment in the Department of Women and Gender Studies, at the University of Delaware. She holds a Ph.D. from Michigan State University in Ecological/Community Psychology. Her research is driven by the needs of survivors and of advocates; she has published and presented extensively with community partners. Dr. Fleury-Steiner’s research emphasizes understanding the experiences that survivors of gender based violence have within multiple complex service systems, and the impact of those systems on safety and on survivor decision-making. She has experience with qualitative and quantitative approaches. Dr. Fleury-Steiner’s research has been published in Violence Against Women, Violence and Victims, Feminist Criminology, and Journal of Interpersonal Violence.
