Postponed – Stronger Together: Drawing from Research and Practice to Develop a Polyvictimization Screening Tool
This Webinar is postponed. We hope to announce a new date soon.
Sara Bastomski (Urban Insitute), Erica Henderson (Urban Institute), and Susan Jacob (Queens Family Justice Center; QFJC) discuss the Office for Victims of Crime-funded Polyvictimization Screening Tool Demonstration Initiative. This initiative aimed to develop a comprehensive assessment tool to identify polyvictims—individuals who have experienced multiple victimization types—and link them to services. During the initiative’s pilot phase, QFJC staff identified the need for a short screener to identify likely “high-needs” polyvictims, for whom the comprehensive assessment tool would then be administered. QFJC staff worked collaboratively with the Urban Institute/Center for Victim Research (CVR) technical assistance providers to develop a 9-question screener for use with all clients. By combining research and experiential expertise, QFJC and Urban/CVR developed a practical, short tool that impacted work conducted by other sites.
